WELCOME!

Calligraphy is thriving in beautiful Birmingham, Alabama!

Hi! My name is Leah Dueffer, and as the current president, Id like to take this opportunity to introduce you to the exciting world of calligraphy through our guild website!

The Birmingham Calligraphy Guild, Les Enlumineurs, seeks to promote the art of beautiful writing in the Birmingham metropolitan area.

Our membership consists of a very diverse group of calligraphers, from the hobbyist to the full-time professional and every level of interest in between. We come from Alabama, Tennessee, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, and Kentucky and many of our members travel to Birmingham to participate in the numerous learning opportunities hosted by the guild.

If you would like more information about the guild please contact either Leah or our membership chair, Jim Davis.

UPCOMING MEETINGS:

PRESENTATION AND BRUNCH:
with Melinda Sapp

JUNE 4
9 am - 12 pm
Indian Springs Village Town Hall

Melinda was commissioned to design a large memorial piece to hang at the Town Hall. It was to be presented at their Founder's Day event in the Fall of 2015. It was a long and interesting process working on a full hide of calfskin and we thought it would be nice to have a field trip to see the finished piece and have a short presentation about the creation of it.

BRUNCH:
There will be a potluck brunch after the program so bring something to share while we go over any guild business. The guild will provide drinks and paper products.

There is a nicely appointed kitchen for warming things up.
